MINUTES of Meeting held on Monday 7th February 2011

To approve the minutes of the last meeting of the Parish Council held on the 22nd November 2010
3. NEW BUSINESS
3.1 FS spoke about the efforts to raise broadband speeds in our area. A meeting has been arranged in Rosley Village Hall on Tuesday 23rd February, all welcome to attend. The chairman volunteered that small finance would possibly be made available.
3.2 Support from adjoining parishes re: Wind farms - muted response
3.3 Highways Steward – They are now working in teams of two. Councillor Fairburn to approach the Highways on our behalf.
3.4 Anne Burgess spoke about the 1st Responders. They have three applicants. Caldbeck are joining with Thursby for their training and they might need donations in the future for another defibrillator.

5. PAYMENT OF ACCOUNTS
To authorise payment of the following accounts
5.1 Clerk’s salary and expenses £1000 + £28.15 = £1029.35
5.2 Rosley Link £168.00
5.3 Hospice at Home £100
5.4 Mr J. Pigg – Fencing - carries forward to next meeting
5.5 Financial support for the year was agreed by IW and seconded by JC to give Rosley Hall £800 and Churchyard £200, Westward Halls £950 and Churchyard £50, J.R proposed and T.T seconded £250 would go to the Great North Air Ambulance.

Discussion on Wampool & Waver catchment’s area. A meeting will be held in Kirkbride Institute Hall 8th February 2011, JC to attend. B.B said about the bad state of Craggs Road J.R reported the notice board at Westward is leaking. E.H said Thackwaite culvert blocked again. I.W reported the water is still running at the Red Dial junction on the A595. T.T noted drain blocked and a bad pothole at Tarry Hill. Most councillors noted the bad state of our roads and many potholes in the parish. Complaints to be passed onto Highway Stewards.
